The Planet Protector Academy is a 6-week interactive teaching resource for grades 3-6 called “Zero Heroes” where students learn to think critically about how they can reduce the amount of waste they produce to become Zero Heroes; Heroes that produce less waste! The Zero Hero program is composed of 6 one-hour preplanned lessons that use short videos, interactive classroom activities, and take-home missions. Each Lesson is interdisciplinary and supports curriculum standards for science, art, social studies, and language! All a classroom needs to participate is an internet connection, a computer, and a projector or smartboard.
Project Outputs
A FREE teaching resource for up to 2 classrooms per school. Feed-back from participating classrooms will be used to inform the addition of indigenous-centered content to the Zero Heroes Program! The Zero Heroes teaching resource inspires students as zero waste superheroes to explore our garbage predicament and change families’ waste habits!
